My Last Curtain Call

I lay awake and wonder
If I were to die
Would you even care
Would you even cry
I am so sorry
To have failed you all
And so this is it
My last curtain call
The knife draws draws deep
My soul is set free
Life flashes by then fades to black
Blood coats the tile
My body goes slack

Passing By

I see you walking by,
We look at each other, eye to eye.
I see you passing by,
My mind is filled with thoughts, like blue stretched out across the sky.
You look at me, and notice me looking at you,
You can read my mind; you know what I want to do.
I want to walk up to you and talk,
A smile spreads across your lips, as we start to walk.
You tell me all about your day,
You know I love you, but you have no reason to stay.
You have lit a fire inside me, letting it burn,
You turn to look at me; your eyes are strong, yet firm.
You start to talk more, and we have fun,
But I have yet to discover the truth; into the abyss will I run.
When you touch my shoulder, pink surrounds my cheeks,
When I’m with you, it gets harder to breathe, and even to speak.
I feel whole around you; you know I love you,
Yet I feel I don’t know what to do.
We find a nice spot under a shady tree,
I feel so happy, so free.
Yet I have no link to you,
I have no key.
It’s nice out, a beautiful day,
Just staying by you, as we lay.
Just staring at the clouds as they pass by,
Surrounded by miles of grass, and endless sky.
I turn to look into your eyes,
Hoping we never say our good-byes.
I know nothing could be better then this,
Just then, your lips touch mine, a passionate kiss.
My eyes wide, hoping our lips would never part,
I will never forget the pulsing that went through my heart.
You pull away to look at me, looking deeply at my face,
It’s like we’re tied together, with unbreakable lace.
You pull me in for another kiss,
I know now, I will never run into the abyss…
Then reality comes back to me, I know what’s true,
We’re still looking at each other, I still see you.
I know I will never forget that day when I looked into your eyes,
I know I will always remember that day you walked by…

My Protection

I tried to protect you as best as I could but failed
I tried to help you but to no avail
I loved you and you betrayed me
I was only trying to be part of your life and you pushed me away
Now there is nothing else left to say
I turned to you for help and you laughed
It doesn’t matter anymore
I would give anything to be with you one more day
But nothing would change you still wouldn’t stay
What happened between us
I need to know
Even if you decide you still want to go
I keep wishing this is all a horrible dream
And I will wake up and everything will not be as it seems
I am sorry to have failed you and I love you deep down
Even as my body goes into the ground

Neutronium Alchemist

He was the hero that could do it all
He had skill and talent that set him apart
But he wasted it all for fortune and fame
And as he lay broken and beaten
It finally clicked, no one knew him by name
He was treated like all the others who had also been cursed
It was because of the impact both second and first
The impacts that covered the earth in a mist
And made him known only as the Neutronium Alchemist
He had given up and thrown in the towel
As he got swallowed by the monstrous growl

Survival

SURVIVAL
By
Stephen Hull
and
David Patrick

Chapter 1 Survival
David opened his eyes on the beach. All around him he heard the sound of waves, and felt the sand itching in his hair. What had happened? Where the hell was he? He struggled to his feet, and his entire body trembled with fatigue. He tried to remember what had happened. He remembered that he was on his way to the world lacrosse championships in Beijing, and that his English class was going to give him moral support. But where was everyone else? He didn’t remember much more. David slowly limped around on the beach, trying to ascertain his location. A few hundred feet later, he spied a dark figure lying on the white sand. “Stephen!” he yelled, and the figure rose to its feet. “Yes, it is I.” Said Stephen. Together the two stumbled on the beach, tired from yesterday’s ordeal. Heading down the beach for about 2 hours, they spotted what looked like debris. There were suitcases on the beach and tons of metal, fuel tanks, and even the body of the pilots. Together, they buried the bodies in the soft, warm sand. A low breeze was blowing clouds of white sand around the island, and there was a soft fizzing sound when the clouds settled on the water. “We must have crashed here.” Said David. Stephen merely responded with a nod. More memory of the previous day’s calamity was surfacing in David’s mind now. He remembered the dark, warm pacific water as he struggled out of the downed airplane. People were screaming as they battled the seatbelts that were dragging them into the deep. David and Stephen were the lucky ones who got out. Outside it was storming, and David fought the choppy water. After about an hour, he could not fight any longer and passed out, not expecting to wake up. But he did. Was there others?
David and Stephen searched the debris, and David was surprised and happy to find that his lacrosse stick had made it to the beach and was undamaged.

Chapter 2 the axe and the spear
After several hours of walking on the beach, David and Stephen walked upon the place they called the debris field. If this was indeed the same debris they had encountered before, then they figured that they had walked in a circle and that this was an island. “This has to be an island, look at the debris.” Said David. “It will be getting dark soon; we need to find a shelter.” But before walking away, David picked up a jagged, triangular piece of steel from one of the engine casings. David and Stephen walked inland to the forest. Inside, they found a dense covering of trees, and the canopy was so dense that it blocked out most of the light. On the ground was a thick mat of leaves and dirt. They cleared as many leaves as possible, then layed down. “Are you hungry?” said Stephen “Quite hungry, actually, let’s see if we can find any food to eat.” And after about an hour they had come upon a grouping of trees with a medium, yellowish fruit on them. David tasted one. “Its sweet!” they spent another hour gorging on fruit. Then they made their way back to their makeshift shelter for the night. Gradually, it began getting colder and colder, and eventually David woke up shivering. The next morning, David and Stephen had waked up cold and hungry. They then made their way back to the fruit tree and filled up. Stephen agreed to start making more permanent shelters while David would build a fire. David went back to the debris field on the beach and began siphoning fuel from one of the tanks into an empty coconut shell. He then went back to the shelter where Stephen had already begun erecting wooden poles. “Hey, we’ll need to make weapons; there may be wild animals here.” David was way ahead of Stephen. He took the triangular piece of metal and tied it to his lacrosse stick with a piece of bark. Stephen removed one of the poles and sharpened the end to make a spear. “Now we can protect ourselves from wild animals.”

Chapter 3 the meeting with Joe
Later that night, David had started a fire with some dry logs and the jet fuel he had collected. The fire was large, but the light did not radiate far due to the thick foliage. The smell, and the smoke, however, attracted an un-wanted guest. Joe popped out of the bushes “Hey guys!” he yelled. Startled, Stephen pulled out his spear and jabbed once at Joe’s chest, but missed. “Whoa! Watch out there! Got anything to eat? I’m sooooo hungry I could eat a –“ Shut up Joe!” yelled David. It was once again silent. A few seconds later “So you guys know what happened? It was kinda weird, there was this thud and the plane was like shaking and rolling, and, and, cool! That’s and awesome axe you made! Can I have something to eat? I am sooo-“ “Shut up! Shut up now! NOW!” Screamed David as he lifted his axe. David’s shout echoed throughout the island, and before long, others began to arrive. Soon it was clear that the entire English class had arrived except for Ms. Sato, because she had gone to Alaska to give a lecture on the importance of bell work to a large group of nobel prize winners. Everyone on the island was clamoring for food, but everyone wanted meat, and no one was willing to go and get it. So David and Stephen ventured out into the night to get some meat for the class. They came back with one dead pig, and cooked it on the fire. David and Stephen found that their shelter that they had worked so hard to make had been taken by some other students. When they divided the meat, many of the kids tried to steal their portions. “No! I wont let you take my food!” yelled David as he grabbed his axe and prepared to defend himself. “Yeah!” shouted Stephen as he raised his spear. Four other students, Chris, Joe, John, and Kayla all joined with David and Stephen. Chris grabbed four burning sticks and handed them out to Joe, John and Kayla. The other students all agreed that the only solution to this situation was to kill them. “Attack!” yelled an unknown person. The six students, armed with an axe, a spear, and four burning sticks fought bravely against the rest of the class, and won. “Victory is ours!” yelled David and a loud cheer went up. But suddenly, and quite unexpectedly, a student whom everyone thought was dead jumped up and grabbed the axe out of David’s hand and struck Joe in the neck with it. Joe’s neck was torn and blood spewed out in every direction. Joe and the student fell to the ground, both dead. Four days later, a rescue ship came and rescued them, including ten other students who survived the battle.
